Francoise Danoy

Françoise, a renowned textile fiber artist and creative business coach, carries the vibrant threads of her unique Franco-Māori heritage, born in Australia and brought up in America, woven into the tapestry of her life and work. This rich multicultural background has offered Françoise a distinct lens through which to perceive the world and has deeply influenced her journey in the realm of fiber arts.

As a fiber artist, Françoise’s work is a testament to her unwavering dedication and deep passion for her craft. Each piece she creates is an eloquent narrative, beautifully conveying the personal stories of her experiences as a diaspora Māori.

“My images show Intimate landscapes or abstracts and patterns created by the elements; wind, water, tide, and of course light, that have caught my mind’s eye. Images, that are by their nature, fleeting and unique. Usually black and white to bring out form and texture, or with some colour where there are beautiful rich tones.

Occasionally a beautiful Tui or a grand landscape will bring me back to colour. I hope you enjoy my work”.

Karen Gourley is an Artist born in Northern Ireland and now based in Christchurch. Her artwork is focused on depicting wildlife in realistically vibrant detail, typically through the medium of soft pastels. Her intention is for viewers to experience the creatures emotionally and find comfort in their grace, beauty and playfulness. In addition to providing a captivating display of colour, she strives to make her pieces showcase overlooked elements of nature – from feathers’ detailed textures to fleeting close-ups with animals. With each piece of art, she also seeks to foster a greater appreciation of our natural world and encourage empathy towards our fragile environment.
