Valerie Auersperg

Valerie Auersperg is an artist and illustrator living in Auckland, New Zealand whose artworks stand out with bright colours and a humorous take on themes of memory, pop culture, and her own mental health aimed to bring a sense of joy and a smile to the viewer’s face.

Besides creating illustrations and paintings she has also created murals in private homes, offices, and public spaces in Sydney, Australia and all over New Zealand.

Auersperg is a self-taught artist with a background in fashion, animation, and advertising. She has exhibited in New Zealand, Australia and the US. Her work has appeared in several magazines, including PIKCHUR, Envison Arts, Fennec Home, and New Visionary Magazine. Her work has also been featured on Create! Magazine’s blog, The Big Idea NZ website, the NZ Herald and she has been interviewed for numerous podcast including Creative Matters (NZ), VAC Podcast (US), ARt! OK Cool (Canada) and Arts To Hearts Project (India). In 2022, she was part of the WWF Whale Tail trail in Auckland and in 2024/25 she was part of the Kiwi Art Trail across New Zealand.
