Sue Lockett
I am passionate about capturing the beauty of nature through my paintings and prints. I draw my inspiration from the spectacular landscapes, flora and fauna of this beautiful country, and am curious about natural forms, colour and light.
I was born in Sri Lanka but have lived most of my life in Auckland, NZ. I studied art at high school and I have always been creative, enjoying experimenting with different mediums. During the 2020/21 lockdown I was recovering from a bad ankle injury, and I began to devote even more time and energy to my art, and produce more pieces.
I take a lot of photos when I'm out and about and keep these for referencing.
I love the creative process, and bringing a subject to life on canvas.
My goal is to create beautiful art that not only gives me joy, but also gives pleasure to others.
