Pen and marker on paper – Original Drawing Size : A4
This piece is a selection from a series of 6 exploratory drawings investigating surrealistic integration of natural systems and our built environment.
Ancient forms of infrastructure are resurrected and celebrated. Expression of built nature is used throughout public systems. Lit by meandering, genetically and technologically augmented sunflowers, someone waits. Atop an aqueduct-esque structure they sit, held aloft by the colonnades of parks and reserves, formed in the merging of structure and form in classical tenants. They wait for an incomprehensible transport, destination and purpose unknown. Quietly humming away, an ultralight pod drifts past on its way to a nearby generator field for recharging.
